Is TankTrim free?
Yes. Browsing, posting, messaging and rating are all free.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. Anyone can browse listings. You need a free account to post, comment, send DMs or leave ratings.
Does TankTrim handle payment or shipping?
No. TankTrim connects hobbyists. Members agree on payment, swaps, meetups and shipping directly with each other. Ratings help you choose who to trade with.
What can I list?
Aquarium plant trimmings and cuttings, plus extra shrimp, snails and fish from your own tanks. Everything must be legal where you and the other person live.
How does the radius search work?
Set how far you're willing to travel and we show listings within that distance. We only show an approximate distance, never your exact address. Shipped listings appear no matter how far away they are.
Can I filter what I see?
Yes. Filter by cost (free, swap or for sale), by how you get it (local pickup or shipped), and by type (plants, shrimp or fish).
How do ratings work?
After a trade, both people can rate each other with stars, quick tags and an optional comment. Ratings show on public profiles together with trade history.
Is it available in my country?
TankTrim works anywhere. Distances show in miles or kilometres based on where you are. Trades follow your local laws.
Is there a mobile app?
TankTrim works on any phone browser, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.
Something went wrong with a trade. What do I do?
Talk to the other member first. If that doesn't work, leave an honest rating and report the user if they broke the guidelines. You can also email us at hello@tanktrim.com.
